A 6-week study plan, plus your final 7 days
A realistic weekly plan for working professionals, and what to do in the last week before the exam.
The principle
Practise questions early and often. Reading alone does not prepare you for scenario questions; reviewing why each wrong option is wrong does. Plan for about 8 to 10 hours a week.
Weeks 1 and 2: map the territory
- Read The July 2026 PMP exam at a glance and the Exam mindset tab.
- Do 30 to 40 questions a day in Practise, one domain at a time, starting with People.
- Read every rationale, including for questions you got right.
- Learn the formula sheet in small pieces, five formulas a day.
Weeks 3 and 4: Process and Business Environment
- Work through Process in this order: Predictive, then Agile, then Hybrid.
- Spend at least a third of your time on Business Environment; it is now 26% of the exam.
- Sit your first 60-question mock at the end of week 3 to get a baseline.
- Every evening, clear the Mistakes list.
Weeks 5 and 6: exam conditions
- Sit one 90-question mock and one 180-question mock under real timing.
- After each mock, review every question you missed and every flagged question.
- Drill your two weakest assessments from the Progress page.
- Your readiness ring should be in Nearly ready (70%) or above before you book or keep your date.
Your final 7 days
| Day | Focus |
|---|---|
| 7 | Full 180-question mock, then review |
| 6 | Weakest domain: 60 questions with rationales |
| 5 | Business Environment and agile drill |
| 4 | Formula sheet and calculation questions |
| 3 | Second full mock or a 90-question block |
| 2 | Mistakes list only, then stop early |
| 1 | Light review of the mindset rules; rest and sleep |
The day before
Do not cram. Re-read the exam-day checklist, prepare your ID, and get a full night of sleep. A rested mind reads scenarios more accurately than a tired one that knows one more formula.
